While fighting his way through the basement of Castle Oblivion Riku developed the ability to 'smell' the darkness (and consequentially the light) around him; this sense seems to be quite longranged as Riku was able to tell that Marluxia had been defeated, even though there was a distance of several floors between them.
What I'd like to know is, if Riku is able to sense the nature of their heart and what he would sense if he did. Thank you~

Crona themself is probably a 2, but they have black sentient demon blood that has consumed the innocent before...tl;dr if we count Ragnarok/the blood then he's hitting closer to a 4. And that's ignoring any latent witchy things Cro may or may not have so yeah. Crona's gonna be a bit weird to sniff.

01) Why, yes. Yes, she does! She probably also has a nearly entirely pure heart, actually, as per being the
protagHero of Time and all. It comes with the job description and fighting evil thing. Plus, she kind of conquered "herself" in the Water Temple, which I assumed would've been her impurities or... something idk.02) DEFINITELY a 1. If anything higher, a 2 at most. The worst she has are some self-doubts and worries but those are completely normal; she was chosen for her heart and courage by the Goddesses (creators) of her world/universe and carries a piece of a sacred ~magic~ relic called the Triforce (Courage, to be precise; it's part of a triad consisting of Power, Courage, and Wisdom), meaning she deserves it/is pure enough to wield it. ... She just doesn't KNOW that yet. Plus, only the pure of Heart can... really wield the Master Sword, which is her special sword. It houses the power to repel any sort of darkness, evil, or demonic stuff, so don't be shocked to find her nearly as Light-sided as you can get. Heck, from what I know of KH, she'd probably make a good Princess of Heart.

... I apologize beforehand for the tl;dr but Minato is--complicated. orz;;
01) Yes, but there's actually... kind of two souls? This is where it gets complicated. Minato has a figment (a piece, of sorts) of Death sealed inside him that manifests in the form of one of his two Personas: Thanatos. It's dangerous and unwieldly and has a consciousness all its own, not to mention that during Full Moons and at nights, a certain piece of Death takes the form of an amnesiac Ghostchild that talks to him. His Persona (Samael) is an extension of his soul, but it's also sort of an entity all to itself? So... more like two souls and then a vague copy of his original Soul that has it's own mind and feelings and is wielded/used for protection, a manifestation of himself/his psyche.
I... can explain this further but as I've only played a bit into KH1, I'm unsure as to how relevant it'll even be. If you need to work this out with me, just say so; I'm up to it.
02) It's probably a 3. Minato has killed many times over--to the point that it no longer even bothers him. He and Strega function as hitmen, but he generally decides on the hits (he never kills innocents if he can help it) and does it himself, as well as cleans up the mess. He's entrenched in illegal activities in his home world as well (it's not a stretch to say Strega also sells certain drugs aside from Persona Suppressors along with things like guns and bombs and whatnot), so that's probably not what you'd call pure light of any sort.
... On the other hand, Minato is a good kid (they all really are, in the end) who just happened to get caught up in a lot of experimentation and suffering after the death of his family (or so he thinks; only his sister is still alive) and he broke his friends out of the lab they were kept in. But he's a wanted guy for it and they all are; the problem is, they don't know any other way to live, so even if they're not BAD kids, murder, illegal activities, stealing, etc. is just... their daily life. They're all morally ambiguous, to be honest.
TL;DR: It's a 3 because there's definitely some darkness and moral ambiguity, but he's mostly a good kid with a kind nature who would, say, save a cat from a tree and would rather die to save his friends than lose what precious time left he has with them.
03) I don't... think so? Minato REEKS of Death--as in, the God/Physical State/Desire for it, you could find him from miles away. But it's vague... he probably reeks of Darkness, but not in the way Riku would be used to, I think? It's not Darkness that's evil, and there'd be an underlying Light sort of... within it, I suppose you could say.

I................. oh no this is hard. But as Dark Is Not Evil I'm going to say it's a solid 4. Quite up there. But Riku would have a somewhat difficult time diving this right off the bat because...
03) Is there any reason why Riku shouldn't be able to sense you?: ... As I would like to say, Break has a Chain called the Mad Hatter and it is probably the source of some of that darkness. The rest? Well, Break's done some terrible things and he is quite dark himself.
Not evil. Just dark. But I would like to keep a minimum with Break for Reasons I don't want to get too into (mostly I just want to plot with him being a manipulate-y plotty person), maybe just a 3 or something idk. Poke me I guess? Riku can definitely sense something dark about this heart but there's... not evil per se in there, not really.

She's around a 2.5-3, but could quickly slip further into darkness by using too much magic. Seeing as turning into a 5 effectively kills her, though, she'll always respawn around the 2/3 mark, and reliably stay around there.

In game canon, many Personae that he summons/collects via Persona Fusion have mentioned he has a strong heart and soul of Light, a light strong enough to cut through the cursed darkness that holds Satan and many other demons and that, for a mere human child, is quite impressive to those whose existence belongs in heaven. A heart filled with light, yet is capable of dark deeds if he permits hollow rumors to delude him (spoilers: he hasn't allowed it to happen for long). One that seeks the truth... who harbors the power to call forth the original God...
Usually, it is Izanagi-no-Okami who is at the forefront, and he is representative of the bonds that have strengthened his heart and his inner strength. (Have fun figuring out why he's sometimes impervious to darkness.)

Edgeworth would never ever kill anyone and has a strong sense of right and wrong. However, he is not completely of committing cruel acts if he feels that it's the only way to find the truth behind something - he once threatened to reveal a witness' background of attempted suicide if she refused to testify and said that if she took her own life afterwards, he didn't care as long as he got the truth out of her. Later, it was hinted that he really did not enjoy threatening like her but he felt that he had no choice. So yeah, a good guy but not completely incapable of complete arseholery provided he doesn't kill someone.
